Notes from a Small Island book reviewīefore Bryson makes the move back to his native United States (citing hilariously that “we need him”), he decides to take a trip from one end of England and Scotland to another. I finally decided to pick it up, and I am glad that I did. However, if this Covid-19 has given me anything, it’s a lot of time to read. Notes from a Small Island had been sitting on my bookshelf for several years, and I still hadn’t made the effort to pick it up. I’ve long been a fan of Bill Bryson after reading The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, but to be honest, I had never read his travel books. ![]()
